Public Health Alert: Measles Cases Reported in Madavoor Grama Panchayat

Following the reporting of suspected measles cases in various wards of Madavoor Grama Panchayat, the Family Health Center authorities have issued an alert for the public. Everyone's cooperation is essential to prevent the spread of the disease.

Symptoms:

High fever

Cough

Runny nose

Red and watery eyes

Red rashes starting from the face and spreading across the body

Some individuals may also develop small white spots inside the mouth.

The infection spreads through the air when infected individuals cough or sneeze.

Precautions to Follow:

If symptoms are observed, immediately inform health workers and seek medical assistance.

Individuals with symptoms should avoid visiting schools, anganwadis, workplaces, and public gatherings.

Isolate the patient in a well-ventilated room away from others (especially pregnant women, infants, and those with compromised immunity).

Wash hands frequently with soap and ensure mouths and noses are covered when coughing or sneezing.

Do not take self-medication or Vitamin A without a doctor's advice.

Ensure that children's MR (Measles-Rubella) vaccination doses are up to date.

The Medical Officer and Grama Panchayat President have advised that immediate medical treatment must be sought if symptoms such as breathing difficulty, seizures, severe fatigue, loss of consciousness, or the inability to drink water are observed.
