Madavoor Grama Panchayat - Topographical Classification
Based on its topography, Madavoor Panchayat can be divided into four categories:
High Slope Region
Moderate Slope Region
Plain Region
Valley Region
1. High Slope Region
This region is located on the higher elevations of the small and large hills in the Panchayat, such as Arikkalkunnu in Angathayi, Ethirampaaramala, Payingattumala, Vaayoramala, and Pullorakkunnu.
It constitutes only a small fraction of the Panchayat's total area.
2. Moderate Slope Region
A considerable portion of the Panchayat's total area falls under these moderate slope regions.
These areas have the highest population density and are where major agricultural crops other than rice are cultivated.
3. Plain Region
The plain areas are situated adjacent to the moderate slope regions.
Crops like coconut, arecanut, tapioca, and banana are cultivated here.
These areas, which are suitable for farming, are currently being converted into residential settlements.
4. Valley Region
The valleys are found immediately below the plain regions.
These areas contain paddy fields, ponds, and streams, and a small amount of rice cultivation is carried out.
Coconut, arecanut, and banana are also found here.
