Madavoor Panchayat - Geographical Classification
Based on its topography, Madavoor Panchayat can be classified into four distinct regions:
High Slope Region
Moderate Slope Region
Plain Region
Valley Region
1. High Slope Region
This region consists of the higher parts of the small and large hills in the Panchayat, such as Arikkalkunnu in Angathayi, Ethirampaaramala, Payingattumala, Vaayoramala, and Pullorakkunnu.
It constitutes only a small portion of the total area of the Panchayat.
2. Moderate Slope Region
A significant portion of the Panchayat's total area is made up of these moderate slope regions.
These areas are the most densely populated parts of the Panchayat and are where the main agricultural crops, other than rice, are cultivated.
3. Plain Region
These plain areas lie adjacent to the moderate slope regions.
Crops like coconut, arecanut, tapioca, and banana are cultivated here.
These areas, which were traditionally suitable for agriculture, are now rapidly transforming into residential settlements.
4. Valley Region
The valleys are found immediately below the plain regions.
This area contains paddy fields, ponds, and streams, and a small amount of rice cultivation is still carried out here.
Coconut, arecanut, and banana are also found growing in the valleys
